Where to begin. Lexi is a lover of all things “kawaii” (which means “cute” in Japanese). Her favorite kawaii brands include but are not limited to: Super Mario, Hello Kitty, Studio Ghibli, Yummy World, Pokemon & Rilakkuma. Similarly, she has an affinity for iconic 80s adventure films such as Gremlins, E.T., Ghostbusters, Back To The Future & The Karate Kid. In essence, Lexi is a lover of both American & Japanese culture, including all the art, food and fashion each has to offer! In 2023, Lexi achieved her dream of traveling to Japan with her husband Jim for their honeymoon.
As an avid musicologist, Lexi has had the opportunity to explore some pretty unique sub genres - her favorites being: city pop (70s & 80s Japanese funk), vapor wave (resampled & slowed down disco) & future bass (a happier variation on dubstep). Lexi’s favorite genres to perform as a DJ are golden era hip hop, new jack swing, and old school funk.
Lexi is a born entertainer. She has dabbled in many hobbies aside from record-spinning, including juggling, performing as a magician, bento box-making and creating origami. Lexi also loves to collect. Her collections of Funko Pops, vinyl records, kawaii toys, concert tickets and international currency each run in the thousands.
In addition to endlessly sharpening her skills as a music producer, Lexi also plays the keyboard, organ, guitar & bass. Her favorite genres to create are disco/funk, synth wave and chip tune. Not only does Lexi produce original music, but she uses Ableton to create DJ edits and remixes. Lexi has also completed an audio engineer apprenticeship at a local recording studio.
